Why people switch to Peak for service.

If your original installer is hard to reach, charges $200 for a 10-minute filter change, or keeps trying to sell you a "system upgrade" every visit — you're not alone. Most water companies treat service as a profit center to push new sales.

We do it differently. We service whatever brand you have. We give honest diagnostics — if the unit is fine and you just need salt, we'll say that. If it's truly broken and not worth fixing, we'll tell you that too instead of selling you a repair that won't last.

Brand dealer vs. independent — what's the difference?

Most major brands push you to use their authorized dealers for service. Sometimes that's appropriate (warranty work). Often it's just lock-in. Here's how independent service compares:

Brand-Authorized DealerIndependent (Us)
Service call fee$150-250 trip charge + $95+/hr labor + parts markup$95 flat — credited toward repair if you proceed
Parts costBrand-only OEM at 2-3x markupOEM or compatible — your choice, transparent pricing
Repair vs. replace pressureOften pushed to "upgrade" rather than repairWe fix what's fixable and tell you honestly when it's not
Scheduling speedOften 1-2 week wait for non-warranty workMost calls within 24-48 hours, emergencies same-day

Service & maintenance FAQ.

How much does a service call cost?
Standard service call is $95 flat — includes diagnosis. If repair is needed, we quote the repair upfront before doing it. If you proceed with the repair, we credit the diagnostic toward it. See the pricing table above. No hidden "trip fees" or "shop fees."
Do you really service Kinetico and Culligan systems?
Yes. Their service reps would prefer you use them exclusively, but legally and technically there's no reason you can't use an independent. We carry the parts that go bad most often and can source the rest. See the dealer vs. independent comparison above.
My softener was installed by someone who's no longer in business. Can you help?
Yes — happens often. We service orphaned systems all the time. We can usually identify the system, get parts, and bring it back to working order. If it's truly unfixable we'll be honest about that.
Do I need a service agreement?
Not required, but our membership plans cover scheduled filter changes, salt delivery, annual check-ups, and priority service — at a flat monthly rate that's usually cheaper than calling per-visit.
How fast can you come out for an emergency?
We aim for same-day for true emergencies (leaks, no water, system flooding). Standard service calls go on the schedule within 24-48 hours.
